For the active immunization of broiler chickens
Dosage and Administration:
The vaccine can be administered by in ovo or subcutaneous routes.
Use sterile devices and equipment for reconstitution and for administration of the vaccine.
The usual aseptic precautions should be applied.
Users must be familiar with all safety and precautionary measures for handling liquid nitrogen in order to prevent personal injury.
Match the dose size of the vaccines and the sterile solvent according to the tables below.
In-ovo administration
One single dose of 0.05 ml is injected into each 18-day-old embryonated broiler chicken egg using in-ovo equipment. The vaccine is delivered to the amnion sac.
Proposed dilutions for In-ovo administration:
Number of vaccine ampoules - Solvent - Volume of one dose
4 x 2000 doses - 400 mL - 0.05 mL
2 x 4000 doses - 400 mL - 0.05 mL
4 x 4000 doses - 800 mL - 0.05 mL
1 x 8000 doses - 400 mL - 0.05 mL
2 x 8000 doses - 800 mL - 0.05 mL
3 x 8000 doses - 1200 mL - 0.05 mL
4 x 8000 doses - 1600 mL - 0.05 mL
Subcutaneous administration
One single injection of 0.2 ml per chick is applied at one day of age. Automatic syringe may be used. The vaccine is delivered under the skin of the neck.
Proposed dilutions for subcutaneous administration:
Number of vaccine - Solvent - Volume of one dose
1 x 2000 doses - 400 mL - 0.2 mL
2 x 2000 doses - 800 mL - 0.2 mL
3 x 2000 doses - 1200 mL - 0.2 mL
4 x 2000 doses - 1600 mL - 0.2 mL
1 x 4000 doses - 800 mL- 0.2 mL
2 x 4000 doses - 1600 mL - 0.2 mL
Indication:
For the active immunization of broiler chickens in order to reduce mortality, clinical signs, weight loss, acute lesions of bursa of Fabricius and to prevent virus shedding caused by classical and very virulent strains of Infectious Bursal Disease virus.
The onset of immunity is expected from 3 weeks of age depending on the initial maternally derived antibodies (MDA) level.
The duration of immunity is demonstrated until 7 weeks of age.
